GOLD SEAL CFI, CFII, MEI
DESIGNATED PILOT EXAMINER
CHECKRIDES
A checkride is a big deal for both the student and the instructor. It's a big deal for me too. My commitment to every checkride is to adhere to the ACS, to make a fair and unbiased evaluation, and to make the applicant as comfortable as possible. You're going to be nervous. Believe me, I know. I hate taking checkrides. I'll try to make it as painless as possible. Just be prepared, and feel free to contact me with any questions.
INSTRUCTION
Most of the instruction I do is tailwheel and backcountry training. I'm also available to do aircraft checkouts, stage checks, instrument proficiency checks, and WINGS flights. Feel free to contact me for more information.

ABOUT ME
I grew up in Northwest Arkansas and learned to fly here over 40 years ago. My wife Becca and I started a non-profit organization, the Tailwind Aviation Foundation, in 2004 with a focus on aviation scholarships, education, and the preservation of recreational airstrips.
I served as the Chief Instructor of the part 141/61 flight school at Thaden Field in the early 2020's and am the creator of the Airfield.Guide, a web site containing information about recreational airfields across the country. I also help curate the collection of recreational airfields in the Ozarks known as FLY OZ. I'm an Airport Support Volunteer for AOPA, a member of the Recreational Aviation Foundation, a FAASTeam representative, a gold seal flight instructor, and in 2022 became a Dedicated Pilot Examiner.
I love aviation, all aspects of it. I enjoy helping other people discover that passion. To contact me:
